Upper School Theatre
Intro. to Theatre (Theatre I)
GRADES 6 - 8
This one-year course introduces basic theatrical skills. It is designed to develop concentration, characterization, and creativity through the use of improvisation, physical theatre, and monologues. Students will cultivate their skills through their participation in various acting exercises. Students will develop an appreciation for theatre as they explore dramatic structure and the evolution of theatre as an artistic medium.
GRADES 6 - 8

Theatre II
GRADES 7 & 8
This one-year course further builds on the skills established in Intro. to Theatre. It is designed to assist students in the development of performance skills and to promote heightened creativity. Students at this level will explore basic acting technique through scene study and will also be introduced to technical theatre skills in the areas of design and playwriting. Students will continue their study of the evolution of theatre through Shakespeare and Musical Theatre.
